Every therapist at Forward Healing brings their full self to the work — clinical tools, lived experience, and a genuine belief that you're here to shift something bigger than a symptom.
We're trained therapists. And we're human first.
Alyssa Hewitson, LCSW
You're on your own healing journey and it deserves to be met with curiosity, not judgment. Alyssa works with adults 18+ across Utah navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, substance use, and life transitions, using a trauma-informed, harm reduction approach that meets you exactly where you are. As an EMDR-trained therapist, she integrates evidence-based trauma therapy with mindfulness, animal assisted therapy and nervous system regulation tools to help you build emotional safety and understand your patterns without shame. Her style is warm, collaborative, and direct and for clients who benefit from extra presence and calm, her therapy dogs Bindi and Panda often join sessions. Whether you're in Salt Lake City or anywhere in Utah virtually, Alyssa will help you reclaim your sense of self and heal forward at your own pace.
Jakie Deily, LCSW — Clinical Director
The events of your life shaped how you see the world and sometimes, quietly, how much of it you let yourself have. Jakie works with adults across Utah navigating perfectionism, anxiety, trauma, and identity exploration, including members of the LGBTQ+ community, helping them move from patterns that hold them back toward a life that feels genuinely their own. Trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), she helps you make space for difficult emotions, get clear on what actually matters, and take actions aligned with your values. Her approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and rooted in self-awareness and authentic growth. If you're the one who's done performing or ready to rewrite the blueprint, Jakie's work is built for that.
Christopher Guido, ACMHC
Healing isn't about becoming someone new, it's about reconnecting with who you've always been beneath the stress, the survival, and the past experiences that shaped you. Christopher works with teens, adults, and LGBTQ+ individuals navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, identity exploration, life transitions, and the lasting impact of past experiences in Utah. His approach is relational and trauma-informed, weaving together Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and somatic work to help you understand your patterns, regulate your emotions, and feel more grounded. The work is collaborative, focused on achievable goals, and oriented around helping you feel less stuck and more confident in yourself and your relationships. If you've been carrying too much and want someone to help you finally set it down, Christopher is that person.
Jess Irvine, CSW
If you've ever been told you're too much, too intense, or too overwhelming, you've found your therapist. Jess specializes in depth work for overachievers, overthinkers, and perfectionists who are ready to understand themselves and finally move from thinking to doing. She works primarily with women and queer folks, individuals and couples, helping them heal generational patterns, navigate societal pressures, and build a life aligned with their core values, using CBT, ACT, and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) as her primary tools. Her approach is trauma-informed and grounded in understanding your attachment style, behavior patterns, and current coping skills so you can get unstuck and build something new. If you're the achiever who's done performing or the one rewriting the blueprint for your life and your relationships in Utah, Jess will meet you there.
Taylor Reid, CSW
Think of therapy the way you think of going to the gym: with the right support, you can reengage the emotional and mental muscles you've lost along the way. Taylor works with teens 12+ and adults across Utah navigating depression, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, PTSD, and major life transitions, using an integrated approach that includes Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), exposure therapy, parts work, attachment theory, polyvagal theory, and somatic support. Together you'll build practical tools, deepen self-awareness, and reconnect with who you are right now, not the version of you that learned to survive, but the one that's ready to grow. Taylor's approach is modern, trauma-informed, and built to help you understand how your body and mind communicate so you can release old patterns and create something that actually fits. Whether you're in Salt Lake City or anywhere in Utah virtually, Taylor will help you strengthen your connection to yourself one step at a time.
Grace Hansen, CSW
If life feels heavy, messy, or harder than you expected, and you're tired of carrying it alone, Grace is here to help. She works virtually with adults across Utah navigating anxiety, trauma, chronic illness, perfectionism, burnout, life transitions, and relationship stress, with a warm, collaborative style that clients describe as disarming, nonjudgmental, and deeply caring. Her approach integrates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and trauma-informed person-centered care bridges practical and compassionate support in equal measure. Grace believes healing isn't about erasing pain but learning to live alongside it with courage, self-trust, and balance and that you are far more resilient than you realize. Whether you're in Salt Lake City or anywhere in Utah virtually, Grace will help you find relief, clarity, and confidence again, one step at a time, together.
Brynley Case, LCSW
All healing starts with connection — to yourself, to others, and to the parts of you that have been waiting to be understood. Brynley works with adults 18–50 who are ready to build the life they always imagined, helping them deepen self-understanding, examine the systems and environments that shaped them, and nurture their trauma rather than bury it. Her approach is relational and feedback-oriented, grounded in the belief that your personal path to change doesn't just heal you, it shifts the world around you. She works virtually with clients who know their trauma isn't something to be forgotten but a piece of themselves to be rewired with care and intention. If you've been carrying too much for too long and you're finally ready to come home to yourself, Brynley is ready to help you get there.
